In 2005, 50 Cent's sophomore album "The Massacre" sold 9.8 million records, according to SoundScan, and still wasn't the highest selling album of the year, back in a time when downloading was something reserved to the internet savvy and bootleggers. In the current climate "The Carter III" was the highest selling album of 2008 with only 2.

Banks and military recruiters don't belong on campus

The banks and the military, two things students just love to be greeted with while struggling to get to class on time. Both promise a sense of security; of your country, of your money, of your country's money. Both like to use appealing hooks to reel you in: a free I-pod for your signature.

Idols should take on their role with dignity

It's a different generation from where our parents used to live from the transition to technologies, music, culture, fashion and perhaps role models. A role model is perceived to be a person who sets a good example, responsible, reliable and a notion to be perfect.

Smoking on campus risks health of others

Smoking on campus may be legal, but that doesn't make it okay. We all know the health problems of second-hand smoking. So there's no excuse not to realize that when you smoke on campus you're damaging the health of those around you. There's no risk-free level of exposure, according to the Surgeon General and the American Lung Association.
