A role model is perceived to be a person who sets a good example, responsible, reliable and carries a notion of perfection.
The younger generation now have to witness the younger generation
Therefore in today's society it leads us to question the youth idolize, who are the good examples and why should famous people be eligible to fit this category?
Who are the people that children admire? Let's stop, think for a moment and ask ourselves who does my younger sister or brother look up to anyway? Possibly famous celebrities, athletes, musicians and cartoons. For an example Paris Hilton, Miley Cyrus, Kobe Bryant, Spiderman, Michael Jordan, Barbie, 50 cent or Little Wayne.
It's not a surprise nowadays the younger generations would name people seen frequently on the television, heard on the radio, or read in magazines.
But are these famous people good roles for kids? Some might agree or disagree because as guardians and parents are concern of the person legibility. If they will be a good example for their kids to look up to. So the issue continues its debate.
The pressure, expectations and responsibilities attach on being an icon are the following: setting a good example, making mistakes that are unacceptable, trusthworthy. With such expectations majority of people prefer not to be icons but whether or not we consent to be an idol to kids we are.
Everyone has their own perception who they think is a role model. Who are good role models? Perhaps parents, musicians, friends, coaches, professors, siblings, athletes, politicians, and celebrities. Sometimes we tend to pounder too much about who is qualified to be a role model and forget the meaning of being one.
Everyone has the right to be classified as a model. But the distinction lies within the actions, decisions and the quality of a person they are. A role model contrast in its definition and people have their own meaning.
